Bring your old shooting gear along to the ‘Shooting Related Bits & Bobs’ boot fair and grab yourself a bargain
Peterborough Shooting Ground is holding its first ‘Shooting Bits & Bobs’ boot fair on Saturday 24 June.
Stephen Pickering, who runs a well-established Facebook page ‘Any Shooting Related Bits & Bobs’, has managed to secure a deal with the guys at the newly opened Peterborough Shooting Ground to run a not-for-profit boot fair.
Shooting Bits & Bobs is a community group that holds the ethos of the shooting and country lifestyle dear to its heart. The group is for members to pass on the ‘bits and bobs’ that they no longer have a use for, as well as to enable people to discuss best practices and look for amazing deals.
The boot fair is free to attend both for visitors and stallholders. Stall pitches will be like gold dust so please check with Stephen via the Facebook page to see if there are any spaces left before just rolling up with a carload of stuff.
We asked Stephen why he goes to all the trouble of organising such an event, completely free of charge and in his own spare time. He replied: “I just love to get out into the field and shoot.
“There are so many people who do not understand the rural and country lifestyle that I see it as my mission to educate as many people as possible. I have built up a great network of friends via the group and although we have in excess of 37,800 members we are a real community, and like all field and shooting enthusiasts we always help each other whenever we can.”
The event’s main stall holder will be Crafty Rabbit England – Stephen says that he is amazed by the quality of Crafty Rabbit’s products and encourages people to go and see for themselves what is available at the prices they charge.
He said: “Dan Warren at Crafty Rabbit has helped us a lot in the short time he has been a member of the group. He knows what he is talking about and, like us and Rob Thomas at The Peterborough Shooting Ground, he is enthusiastic about getting more people into shooting.
